Man with alleged bikie links on drugs, weapons charges

TASKFORCE Maxima have charged a man with alleged links to two Outlaw Motor Cycle Gangs (OMCGs) after a raid at Surfers Paradise uncovered drugs, restricted items and $36,000 in cash. 

Detectives raided a Surfers Paradise unit complex this morning and seized the cash as well as clipseal bags believed to contain cocaine and methylamphetamine, steroids in tablet and liquid form, mobile phones and restricted items.

Police arrested a 33-year-old man in the unit, charging him with two counts of possess dangerous drugs and one count each of unlawful possession of restricted drugs, possess property and possess restricted weapons.

Police allege he is linked to the Comancheros and Mongols OMCGs.

Detective Inspector Philip Stevens of Taskforce Maxima thanked the community for information in the fight against crime. 

"Another $36,000, cocaine and methylamphetamine seized from an OMCG associate, another win for the community, " he said.
