Man in custody after disturbing homeowners in altercation

A 46-YEAR-OLD man is in custody after being thrown out of a stranger's house in the early hours of the morning.

Police said around 2am this morning, the man entered a house in Hayden St, Dalby, without knowing the occupants.

Officers allege the man was pushed out of the home by the homeowner, before he went to the homeowner's car, which had the keys in the ignition, and started it.

The homeowner's father removed the man from the vehicle, who then returned to the front door of the house and began banging on it, asking to be let in side, police said.

After the occupants of the home called the police, the 46-year-old left.

Police attended the 46-year-old's home in the same street, where he had entered his car and reversed onto the nature strip across from his house.

The man was charged with two counts of trespass, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and being in charge of a motor vehicle while under the influence of liquor.

He will appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court on October 30.
