Man finds love, then hate, after waking up in garden bed

A MAN went from 'love' to 'hate' in a matter of seconds.

Police were called to a private Mackay residence where a man had fallen asleep in the front garden, the Mackay Magistrates Court was told. The homeowner did not know the man and had not wanted to approach him.

Christopher John Spencer became argumentative with the officers who woke him and told him to go home, the court was told.

First he said "I love you guys", followed by "you cops are (expletive)".

Spencer, who has no criminal history, pleaded guilty to committing a public nuisance on March 28 about 10.20am.

Duty solicitor Lachlan Ygoa-Mckeown said this behaviour was extremely out of character.

The last thing Spencer remembered was leaving a house to call a taxi, he said.

Spencer was fined $350 and no conviction was recorded.
