Man says he panicked after seeing police in Park Avenue

A MAN who performed a U-turn and went home when police tried to intercept him at Park Avenue on December 24 was fined more than $600.

Joshua Shane Drash pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday to one count of failing to remain after he failed to stop for police at 2.45am on Christmas Eve.

The court heard the 27-year-old borrowed the car from his sister and told police he panicked when he saw them.

He was fined $650 for the offence.
