Man shot in the face on Queensland street
A man has been rushed to hospital after being shot in the face in a quiet northern Gold Coast street this morning.
Police have swarmed the scene at Roe Street, Upper Coomera after the shooting happened just after 8am.
Paramedics treated a man, aged in his 30s, for what was described as a 'laceration' to the head from a gunshot.
He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
Neighbours described the incident as uncharacteristic for the area.
Mother Jen Hutchinson said she had just moved to the area in March and it was a quiet suburb.
"I've got two kids in bed at the moment," she said.
"I'm going to be locking every single door."
