Man tortured with fire for two hours

TWO men allegedly tortured a 64-year-old man with fire at Highgate Hill In Brisbane overnight.

Around 7:45pm the man was drinking with the two men when the three became involved in an argument.

Police say the men then burned the victim with a lighter and aerosol can over a two hour period.

The man escaped and raised the alarm.

He was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hosptial for treatment to burns to his legs, arms, scalp, and face.

Investigations by detectives from Dutton Park Criminal Investigation Branch resulted in two men- a 42-year-old Collingwood Park man and a 44-year-old Highgate Hill man- each being charged with torture, common assault, acts intended to maim/ disfigure/ disable and deprivation of liberty.

Both men have been denied police bail and are expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow, April 17.
