Man wearing hockey mask found with crowbar, hunting knife
A 24-YEAR-OLD Slade Point man has been charged with multiple offences after an incident in Ooralea on Monday morning.
It's alleged the occupants of a home in Lancaster Way, Ooralea were woken by the noise of a person knocking on their front door, when one of the occupants approached the door and claims to have seen a tall man wearing a black hooded shirt with the hood pulled up and wearing a hockey mask.
Police alleged the man was also holding a large hunting knife.
Residents began shouting at the armed man who ran from the address as a result, police said.
Officers from the Mackay police station attended and carried out patrols of the surrounding area where they said the man was located on Centurion Drive in Paget.
The man was allegedly in possession of a backpack containing a large butane blow torch, a crow bar and other implements, also liquid steroids and a black hunting knife.
He was arrested and charged with possessing dangerous drugs, possession of implements to be used in relation to particular offences, unlawful possession of a knife in a public place, possessing tainted property and contravening a requirement from a police officer.
He will appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court.
