Mariners’ future looks bright, says outgoing skipper

CENTRAL Coast Mariners captain John Hutchinson has implored his fans to "stay strong", ahead of his final game at Central Coast Stadium against the Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday night.

Hutchinson is a foundation A-League player, his more than 200 appearances over 10 years in the yellow and navy making him the club's most-capped player.

But he will still leave the game with some great memories - including captaining the Mariners to a maiden grand final win, against the Wanderers, in 2013.

"It's been a very tough season, maybe the hardest out of the 10, but I believe it is onwards and upwards for this club," Hutchinson said.

"Liam Rose, Anthony Kalik, Michael Neill, Tom Slater and co will become household names on the coast and will strive to drive us back where we belong."
