STAFF and clients at Waminda have been hard at work in the building shed to prepare items for their new fortnightly markets, which will begin tomorrow at their Patrick St building.

The markets will be a celebration of clients' creations, plus clothing, baking, and arts and crafts for sale.

Paige Cooper is the business administration manager at Waminda and said the new markets would be a fun way to raise funds for Waminda.

"We're holding these fortnightly markets to raise money for our centre here in Dalby, so we can buy more resources for everyone here,” Ms Cooper said.

"The best part about it so far has just been having all the clients participate and they've all been having such a great time.

"They've been busy building lots of planter boxes and outdoor furniture that will be for sale,” she said.

Waminda client Ross Kneipp has enjoyed building items to sell at the fortnightly markets.

"I built the table on my own and built some planter boxes, flower boxes, and shoe boxes,” Mr Kneipp said.

"I got to design my own work bench with a drawer underneath it, which I'll build soon,” he said.

Melinda Wells, media and marketing officer at Waminda, said they got their funding for these projects through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

"NDIS is the way that all these guys get their funding, and it pushes all service providers to really listen to the needs of each individual client,” Ms Wells said.

"It's a whole new world of creating a... joyous and fulfilling life that (our clients) want,” she said.

The Friday markets will be at 19 Patrick St, Dalby, from 10am-2pm tomorrow, May 19, and every second Friday following.
