Ready to say ‘I do’ before he's popped the question

WEDDING dress - tick. Date - tick. Love of your life - tick. Kylie Streeter has planned most of her 2017 wedding - she's just waiting on the proposal.

Looking at cakes at the Mackay's Premier 30th Bridal Fair , Ms Streeter said she was glad to have the opportunity to meet those who will help her dream day come true.

"It's been good to meet the celebrants, and to taste the cakes. They tasted amazing," she said.

While partner Paul Tudehope is yet to propose, Miss Streeter is already lining up local vendors, including a boudoir photographer she found at the expo.

"We are planning a classic and elegant wedding. He won't propose because I keep asking," she laughed.

More than 220 brides registered at the fair yesterday, filling the hall at the MECC for both fashion parades.

"It's a record number since the downturn," organiser Lucy Dillon said. "It's been packed all day and it's about 100 more than last year. We've been blown away."

Kirsty Pardella and Gavin Williams are in the early stages of planning their wedding after getting engaged last year.

"We are getting married in May 2017," Miss Pardella said.

"We've looked at celebrants and maybe a venue. We've got lots of good ideas on photographers and decorators today. We want a fun and relaxed wedding."
