Mum lied about drug use to police before testing for meth

SINGLE mother of two Trista Maria Dorrough told police she had not taken any drugs before she was found to have illicit substances in her system.

Police prosecutor senior constable Jodie Tahana told the Dalby Magistrates Court police intercepted Dorrough on Nicholson St on February 8 at 8.20am for a random drug test and licence check.

When asked, Dorrough told police she had "not consumed anything" but a drug test returned a positive reading for methylamphetamine.

Dorrough pleaded guilty to driving with a relevant drug in her system.

Magistrate Roger Stark fined Dorrough $350 and disqualified her for one month.

No conviction was recorded.
