New Acland mine hearing could go up to 10 weeks
THE trial in the legal challenge against the New Acland coal mine stage three could last up to 10 weeks.
Lawyers were still wrangling over the length of time needed for the March 2016 hearing during a Land Court directions hearing on Monday.
On December 17 those opposing the $896 million mine west of Toowoomba and New Acland Coal will return to the court to finalise the trial length.
Anti-coal group Lock the Gate, a medical expert and a soil expert attended the court.
