NICHOLSON St was closed at the railway crossing overnight for more than half an hour, after a car crashed into the guard rail and stopped on the tracks.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.30am after a man was involved in a single vehicle accident, slamming his car into the guard rail in the middle of the railway crossing.

Police closed the road while fire-fighters freed the driver and paramedics gave him medical treatment.

The gentleman was taken to Dalby hospital with no serious injuries.
