ON THE WAY: Western Downs could see damaging winds, massive rainfall
RESIDENTS in the Western Downs can expect some more pitter-patter on their roofs tonight as clouds begin to build over the region.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Kimba Wong confirmed this morning the Western Downs will see up to 50mm rainfall over the next 24 hours.
“There is currently a surface trough moving from the north to the south which is aided by an upper trough coming from the east and could see rainfall build into the double digits,” Ms Wong said.
“While the heavier showers will be isolated in parts of the region, residents should prepare for some damaging winds that will make their way through the area.”
Dalby received 10mm over the weekend but should expect some more over the coming days.
“Conditions will clear in Dalby as the week goes on but there should be a bit more coming as clouds build.”
