Paramedics flooded with calls to help Schoolies
PARAMEDICS have had their busiest night so far at this year's Gold Coast schoolies celebrations, responding to nearly 100 calls for assistance.
Queensland Ambulance Service special events co-ordinator Justin Payne said 96 patients were assessed overnight, nine of whom were taken to hospital.
Calls for an ambulance in the Surfers Paradise party precinct have largely related to dehydration and heat stroke.
Police said they continued to be happy with the behaviour of this year's schoolies on the annual celebration's sixth day.
Three male schoolies were arrested for street offences and a further 32 were given liquor infringement notices for drinking in a public place.
