Parliament remembers Don Livingstone
BOTH sides of Queensland politics have delivered an emotional tribute to former Ipswich councillor and Labor MP Don Livingstone.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk described Mr Livingstone, who died on October 15, as a committed local man who was advocating for his community even in his final days.
Opposition Leader Lawrence Springborg described Mr Livingstone as a "great gentleman" and a man of his word.
An emotional Ipswich West MP Jim Madden said Mr Livingstone's legacy could still be felt in the electorate. "Don was my mentor, my strategist, but more than anything my friend," he said.
