Parramatta shooting: New arrest in Curtis Cheng's murder
POLICE have arrested and charged another man in relation to the shooting of police accountant Curtis Cheng outside headquarters in Parramatta last month.
On Friday afternoon, police from the Joint Counter Terrorism Team and Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad stopped a car at Ryde in north-west Sydney and arrested the 22-year-old driver.
The man, from Marsfield in Sydney's north, was arrested and charged with participating in a criminal group.
Police said more information about how the man was connected to the politically motivated shooting of the long-serving police employee in October this year would be revealed later today.
The man was refused bail and is expected to appear at Parramatta Bail Court this morning.
