Police charge man after alleged stabbings in North Mackay

A MAN will face court this morning charged with two counts of attempted murder after two stabbings in North Mackay last month.

It will be alleged around 7.50pm on August 30, police were called to an address on Daniel Street, North Mackay after a 23-year-old man was located with lacerations to his face.

Further investigations led police to an address on Harris Street in Beaconsfield where a 27-year-old man was discovered unconscious and with head injuries.

Both men were taken to the Mackay Base Hospital for treatment where the 27-year-old man remains in an induced coma.

Police have charged a 28-year-old Mackay man who is scheduled to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
