POLICE are investigating a suspicious house fire west of Toowoomba that broke out early this morning.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and police will today return to the Marble St home in Dalby about 1.15am to investigate the cause of the fire which is believed to have been deliberately lit.

The vacant rental home was not severely damaged but police have determined the fire started on the back porch of the home.
