Police launch investigation into early morning house fire

BREAKING: Police will today investigate how an unoccupied home caught fire in the early hours of this morning.

The home on Windmill Rd at Chinchilla was "partially involved" in fire when Queensland Fire and Emergency Services arrived on scene shortly after 1.50am.

The fire was extinguished by 2.40am.

QFES crews were called back to the property hours later after smouldering embers in the roof reignited the fire.

It is understood the house was unoccupied at the time.
