Police raid cache of firearms, chemicals and drug equipment

POLICE have discovered a cache of firearms, chemicals, cash, and equipment used in the production of drugs in a raid over the weekend.

They report explosives were also found on-site. 

A 38-year-old Tallai man has been denied bail after being taken into custody during the raid.

He will appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

The man has been charged with one count each of possessing dangerous drugs, possessing anything used in the commission of a crime, four counts of unlawful possession of weapons, one count of possess utensils and one count of possess unauthorised and prohibited explosives.

The Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team came in to remove items from the property.
