Population soars as crowds make the most of Tara Festival
THE population of Tara sky rocketed this weekend as travellers from all over Australia descended on Tara for the Festival of Culture and Camel Races.
More than 10,000 people attended the festival, more than doubling numbers from last festival and making it the biggest year in the event's history.
The buzz of the event and the sheer number of people was the top topic of conversation among both first timers and return festival attendees.
The three-day action packed schedule offered something for everyone with cultural displays, markets, roving entertainment as well as the famous camel races on the track.
