Put on your dancing shoes and head to Kaimkillenbun
The rain may have come but that doesn’t mean the tough times are over, so why not take a break for a night and have a little fun?
The Kaimkillenbun Hall Committee are hosting their Drought Buster Concert tomorrow night, so put on your dancing shoes and head along for a great time.
Committee president Ken Buckley said they had been looking for an event to hold for the community.
“It just seemed like a good thing at the time,” he said.
“Because of the drought, everyone’s feeling a bit down and grumpy with the world and (we thought) it would be a good idea just to get us all together and have a good time.”
Australia’s bush ballad voice, 2019 Tamworth Golden Guitar finalist and CMAA Country Music Awards Golden Guitar winner Jeff Brown will headline the evening.
“He’s a bush ballad-type singer from Mt Tyson,” Mr Buckley said.
“He’s known to a couple of the people who are on our committee – they’ve heard him play and reckon he’s good value.”
Country rock group Tumbleweeds will also lend their musical talent to the evening, meaning guests will be well entertained.
Along with providing the community with a chance to have some fun, the Kaimkillenbun Hall Committee are also using the event as a fundraising opportunity.
Funds raised will help support LifeFlight and Drought Angels. Tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for children under 16.
