Q and A with John Elliott
FOUR camels, a dog and the road ahead is all in a day's walk for adventurer John Elliott, who will be travelling through Dalby this weekend on an epic adventure covering 6000km.
A year-and-a-half ago MrElliott traded a luxurious life for an adventurous one, setting himself the goal of walking from one coast of Australia to the other with four camels in tow.
Get to know the cameleer passing through Dalby.
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
What do you think the greatest invention has been?
The lithium battery - it means I can have everything charged up, I can have a fridge or whatever I want but with a lithium battery I can have power the whole way through.
Do you have any lucky items, objects or traditions?
Whenever I'm lost, confused or I'm trying to figure something out, I sit down with a rum and a cigar and I don't make a decision until I'm finished both of them.
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
Long hair and beards.
What three things do you think of most each day?
Where I'm going and whatI'm going to eat at the end of the day, crossing the finish line at the very end of the trek and how far away is the next pub and counter meal.
What's been the best decision you've made in your life so far?
Starting my first business. Quitting the job, going out there, taking a risk and starting my business.
What do you love most about where you live?
I can be anywhere and it does feel like home - it doesn't feel like I'm heading towards home, I am home.
What was your first car? (or what would you like it to be?)
What do you consider is the most important appliance in a house?
What historical period would you like to live in if you could go back in time?
The '60s and '70s, I think with my hair I would fit right into that.
