Quad bike crushes man aged in his 90s

A MAN, aged in his 90s, suffered serious neck, back and head injuries after he was crushed while working with a quad bike on a farm at Evergreen, north of Oakey.

The man had parked the bike on high ground while he did some work on nearby lower ground, about 4.15pm yesterday.

The quad bike's brakes then disengaged, and it rolled down the slope and hit the man.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics were called the incident on the Oakey-Cooyar Rd, along with a LifeFlight aeromedical crew.

They transported to the man to the Toowoomba Hospital.

He was in a serious, but stable condition.
