One dead, another airlifted to hospital after crash
UPDATE: 4.05PM: ONE man has died and another was seriously injured in a single-vehicle accident this morning.
Emergency services were called just after 11am, after reports of a car hitting a tree.
The accident happened about 60km from Dalby, 10km south-west of the intersection of Moonie Highway and Surat-Developmental Rd.
QPS Media said the male driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency spokesman said hydraulic cutting tools were required to free the male driver and female passenger from the vehicle.
The female passenger, in her 20s, was airlifted by RACQ LifeFlight to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition, according to a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman.
The QAS spokesman said the passenger had suffered injuries to her face and neck.
The Forensic Crash Unit attended the scene and are investigating the accident.
Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash is to contact Policelink on 131444.
2.20PM: The Moonie Hwy has been closed after a single-vehicle accident this morning.
The crash happened at Marmadua, originally thought to be Weranga, but before 11am.
It is alleged the car carrying two people collided with a tree.
A QAS spokesman said a female in her 20s has been flown to Brisbane's Princess Alexandra Hospital, in a serious but stable condition with injuries to her face and neck.

ORIGINAL: EMERGENCY services and a rescue helicopter have been called to a serious traffic crash in the Western Downs.
A QAS spokesman said reports just after 11am came through of a single-vehicle colliding with a tree at Weranga.
Two people are allegedly in the car with reported serious injuries.
