Rosberg extends lead over rivals

MOTORSPORT: German Nico Rosberg will take a 24-point lead over Lewis Hamilton into the Austrian Grand Prix after cruising to victory in Azerbaijan.

Rosberg took his Mercedes from pole position to beat Sebastian Vettel in his Ferrari into second, with Force India’s Mexican Sergio Perez overtaking Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari on the last lap to finish third.

Reigning champion Lewis Hamilton was fifth, with Aussie Daniel Ricciardo finishing seventh.

With 13 races remaining, Rosberg has 141 points and Mercedes teammate Hamilton 117.
