Rousey rival: 'Well you just got beat, b****'

A FIERCE rival of Ronda Rousey has been quick to knock the former champion while she's down, following Sunday's shock UFC knockout defeat in the bantamweight title fight to Holly Holm in Melbourne.

Miesha Tate was reportedly promised to fight the formerly undefeated Rousey at UFC 193 last night, before UFC decided to go with Holm instead.

Following the second round defeat for Rousey, Tate, angling for a title fight with the new champion Holm, wasn't holding back.

"I'm f***ing stoked; f*** Ronda Rousey," she told MMA News Source.

"F*** her and her 'Nobody has the right to beat me.' Nobody has the right to beat you? Well you just got beat, b****. ... Anyways, I'm proud of Holly. She had a perfect, flawless game plan. She came in with it (Saturday) and now she is the champion."

Rousey left the stadium to receive treatment for concussion and facial cuts at a nearby hospital after the knock-out loss, and skipped the post-fight media conference.

"She was transported (to hospital) because she got knocked out," UFC chiefs Dana White said. "Obviously she's completely bummed out and depressed."

White tweeted this morning that Rousey had a number of stitches in her lip.

Holm's coach, Mike Winkeljohn, says Rousey didn't necessarily err by rushing his charge in their UFC world title fight, but was simply beaten by an intellectually superior fighter in Melbourne.

Much of the talk coming out of the UFC 193 fight that shocked the MMA world centred on whether Rousey's single-minded rushing of Holm - a renowned boxer and kickboxer - cost her the fight and ended with her being kicked right into hospital by Holm.

"Ronda is an emotional fighter and she has overwhelmed people with that pressure sometimes and it's worked for her in the past," Winklejohn said.

"It's just Holly is at another level when it comes to intellect."
