Beau Scott to miss Knights’ rematch with Cowboys
NEWCASTLE coach Rick Stone has deferred on his threat to drop players who showed they weren't up to NRL standard in Sunday's home loss to Parramatta, naming an unchanged line-up for the return match against the Cowboys on Saturday.
Knights enforcer Beau Scott, who signed a three-year deal with the Eels on Monday, has not recovered from an ankle ligament injury sustained against the Dragons in round five. The back-rower created a furore in North Queensland when these teams clashed in Townsville in round two, twice smashing Cowboys playmaker Johnathan Thurston with questionable tackles.
Cowboys coach Paul Green has also named an unchanged line-up after his side scored two late tries to steal the points from the Warriors last weekend.
The Warriors have dropped blockbusting centre Konrad Hurrell and Albert Vete, bringing in David Fusitu'a and Sam Rapira for the Anzac Day match against the Titans at Mt Smart Stadium. Representative back-rower Dave Taylor is out for the Titans after accepting a one-match ban for a reckless high tackle in last weekend's win against the Panthers.
Forward Ryan Simpkins is out for the season after rupturing his ACL, while Gold Coast captain Nate Myles returns at prop for Ingatious Paasi (ankle) and forward Eddy Pettybourne is back from suspension.
Struggling Manly received good and bad news, naming five-eighth Kieran Foran to return after a hamstring problem, but leaving out captain Jamie Lyon after he hobbled off in last weekend's loss to the Bulldogs with an ankle complaint.
Broncos coach Wayne Bennett didn't name Justin Hodges (hamstring), but regained forwards Adam Blair and Jarrod Wallace. The rejuvenated Sam Thaiday moves to the back row in place of Kiwi international Alex Glenn who is set to miss at least four weeks with a fractured eye socket.
