Show markets have twilight success

A DIFFERENT time slot and plenty of stalls was hoped to provide a boost to the monthly market held by the Dalby Show Society.

Saturday afternoon's market had over 40 stalls and was hoping for a huge crowd to rejuvenate the event.

Cars were filling the Dalby Showgrounds from 4pm right through until its closure, highlighting a big success for the society.

Positive feedback from both patrons and stall owners has lead to the Show Society considering hosting another Twilight market in the near future.

Nicole Collins from the Dalby Show Society said it was fantastic to see a big crowd at the showgrounds.

"We had a really good turnout, the community really supported the market which is good to see,” she said.

"We had really good feedback, with people telling us they loved the amount of variety of stalls there were.

"We had people tell us, it was just what the town of Dalby needed.”

Members of the Show Society were setting up the market at 7am the previous day, highlighting the enormity of the event.

The food vans also had a terrific evening, with one of them running out of food during the market.

"We were very happy so many people turned out and supported the amount of effort the Show Society put in,” Mrs Collins said

"It took us about two days to get organised just so the stall holders could come in.

"We would like to thank all of the stall holders who turned out, who made the markets a success.”

Decisions are now being made on how to capitalise on the new enthusiasm for the next market, scheduled for Saturday, December 16.
