Sophie Monk breaks silence over ‘rigged’ Bachelorette
SOPHIE Monk has hit back at rumours The Bachelorette was rigged so that Stu Laundy would win the show.
No one was very surprised when the former Bardot singer chose the charming millionaire publican in the finale.
Over the weekend, footage surfaced of Monk giving a speech at her new boyfriend's birthday party, where she seemed to suggest the pair had had secret meetings during filming for the series.
"So the whole time through The Bachelorette, [when] we were meant to be in lockdown, we saw each other more than any [normal] couple I think. I'd leave a key down in the garage, and he'd just pick it up and go straight to the room.
"He had that arrogance in there [the mansion]. He knew he was going to win [the whole time]."
But Monk has taken to social media to firmly shut down any claims of an prearranged finale, insisting the secret meetings she was referring to had taken place in the two months between the end of filming and the series' television premiere.
Over a screenshot of an article claiming the speech was suspicious, Monk wrote: "Not true. Let me clear this up. I sneakily saw him AFTER we had finished shooting the show, before the finale aired. And his attitude was like he won most of the time. I swear it was totally legit. Love Soph."
