
Star Saints midfielder to go under the knife
AFL: St Kilda midfielder David Armitage needs surgery to fix a groin injury.
The Mackay product suffered the injury in Round 1 and missed the next two games before returning in Round 4, when he aggravated his groin again.
"Unfortunately for Dave Armitage, he has had to undergo an adductor release surgery to correct his injury," Saints footy manager Jamie Cox told the club website.
"Dave won't run for a couple of weeks and is expected to miss at least a month."
Meanwhile, recruit Koby Stevens faces faces a fitness test after copping a head knock in the VFL.
"He has pulled up well from the knock, but will need to prove his fitness on Thursday before being declared fit for the weekend," Cox said.
