Steve Dickson's affordable cannabis bill defeated

ONE Nation state leader Steve Dickson's bid to pass new laws making medicinal cannabis more affordable for those in need has been rejected by a parliamentary committee.

Parliament's Health, Communities, Disability Services and Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Committee tabled its report into Mr Dickson's private member's Bill on Thursday afternoon, recommending it not be passed.

"After examination of the Bill, including its policy objectives, and consideration of the information provided by Mr Steven Dickson MP, Member for Buderim, the Queensland Department of Health, the Commonwealth Department of Health, submitters and witnesses at its public hearing, the committee does not recommend that the Bill be passed," the committee's report states.
