'Super charged' place to buy a home

THERE are few better places in Australia to live than Dalby, and buyers are starting to realise.

In the latest report from real estate experts from hotspotting.com.au, Dalby ranked in the top 50 "super charged" places in the country to buy homes.

Our close proximity to Brisbane and affordable housing prices made Dalby rocket on to the list.

For Dalby real estate agent Andrew Fitzsimmons there are few better places to be right now than in the Western Downs' largest town.

"I have looked around the country and I cannot find another town of our size which has what we have," Mr Fitzsimmos said.

"I believe when the second range crossing past Toowoomba is complete, the spotlight will come on to Dalby."

Mr Fitzsimmons said Dalby had plenty to offer, especially for first-home buyers.

He said Dalby was an enticing location for those trying to break into the housing market.

"What we have found is a lot of people who were tenants have decided to get into the market and have a place for themselves," he said.

"There are low interest rates and the outlook is that they will remain low for a while."

Mr Fitzsimmons said the quality of lifestyle was another reason he believed many people were entering the housing market in Dalby.

"Our cost of living is cheaper and you can leave work on Friday afternoon and be at the coast having fish and chips by tea," he said.

Dalby was just one of four Queensland spots picked on the list.

The Sunshine Coast suburbs of Nambour and Parrearra as well as the Cairns suburb of Trinity Beach were included.
