Swans to fly south after state selection

AUSSIE RULES: Two Dalby Swans players have been selected to represent Queensland after showing scintillating skills at a recent carnival in Coffs Harbour.

Zimmorlei Farquharson and Jessi Henning got the call up after playing for the Brisbane Lions Under 18 Girls Youth Academy side against academy teams from the Gold Coast Suns, The Sydney Swans and the Greater Western Sydney Giants in an interstate competition.

They were joined in the Lions team by fellow Darling Downs Demons players Chloe MacDonald and Tammy Stower.

The Lions went through carnival undefeated, beating the Swans 45-0, edging out the Suns 23-21 before shutting out the Giants 23-0.

In the two games Farquharson played she was named best on ground.

Unfortunately MacDonald and Stower were not selected for the state team with their Demons team mates.

Farquharson and Henning will travel to Melbourne in May for their state duties.
