SWIFT WATER RESCUE: People trapped in house by floodwaters

A SWIFT water rescue is currently taking place at a residence in Eton, 7 News Mackay is reporting.

According to the media outlet, people are trapped in a house surrounded by floodwaters in Eton, 30km inland from Mackay.

Firefighters have reportedly arrived and are assessing the situation.

A member from the Daily Mercury team is en route and will have more information from the scene.
