THE Toowoomba-based RACQ CareFlight rescue helicopter has airlifted a second motocross rider who injured himself at a motocross park.

The male in his fifties from Parkinson suffered a lower leg injury after coming off his bike at Gap Creek motocross park and was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

Earlier the Toowoomba crew was tasked to Manar Park near Boondooma where they airlifted a 31 year old male from Hervey Bay who had suffered chest injuries after hitting a tree at speed.

He was treated by QAS and the rescue helicopters medical team, and was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

It was the third motocross rider who has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight over the long weekend after another rider was injured in a collision between two bikes in a state forest near Coochin Creek.

The 37 year old male from the Sunshine Coast suffered head and arm injuries and was airlifted to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
