Tigers on the ball early in the season

FOOTBALL: The Dalby Tigers women's side have claimed their first three points of the season, after seeing off a competitive West Wanderers side on the weekend.

Sandy Davidson was the hero for the team, scoring a first half double to set up a 2-1 victory.

Captain Shonnie Fitzsimmons said she couldn't ask for much more out of her side at this early stage in the year.

"We were happy with the result, considering it was only our second game as a reasonably new side and we were very happy with our performance. We can only hope to continue to improve from here,” Fitzsimmons said.

"We will continue to work on our fitness, communication amongst the team while playing and we will probably work on more triangle combination passing drills at training.”

This weekend the side will travel away from home for the first time in 2018 as they look to maintain their unbeaten start.

The side tackle sixth placed USQ at Witchott Field 1 at 1pm.
