Toowoomba region truck driver charged over fatal

A TRUCK driver involved in a fatal crash last year which claimed the life of another man has appeared briefly in court.

Acland man Marc William Vietheer, 28, was charged on March 14, 2016 with dangerous operation causing death as a result of the crash on August 18, 2015 during the early hours of the morning.

Mr Vietheer's was driver of an empty cattle truck which allegedly collided into a 4WD on Brisbane Valley Hwy, about 2km south of Harlin.

The driver of the 4WD, a Linville man, 62, died at the scene.

Mr Vietheer's fronted Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday where his legal representative sought an adjournment and requested police provide the full brief of evidence ahead of the next court date.

Magistrate Donna MacCallum adjourned the matter until May 4.

Mr Vietheer remains free on bail.
