Total fire ban for Coast, Noosa and Gympie

A total fire ban has been declared for the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Gympie regions from midnight on Monday.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said the ban came due to “heightened fire conditions”.

It will last for one week.

It comes after two emergency services battled serious bushfires at Bells Creek and Caloundra last week.

The ban means no fires in the open air and all fire permits are cancelled and penalties for breaking the ban apply.
