Tourist airlifted after being pinned by a vehicle

A 26-year-old tourist on a working holiday has been airlifted by RACQ CareFlight Rescue after being pinned by a vehicle in the North Burnett town of Gayndah today.

It was reported the woman was about to wash a car when it rolled down a slope. With the car's handbrake reportedly disengaged, the woman's attempts to stop the vehicle resulted in her being pinned against a post.

She was road transported to Gayndah Hospital where the Bundaberg-based CareFlight helicopter was tasked.

A QAS Flight Intensive Care Paramedic on-board the helicopter treated the woman for suspected spinal injuries before flying her to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.
