
Authorities clear scene of Warrego Hwy truck fire
UPDATE: The Warrego Hwy has been reopened as the scene of an earlier truck fire has been cleared.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services contained a fire which broke out in six cotton bales on the rear trailer of a truck east of Dalby reported about 12.50pm.
Westbound lanes of the highway had been closed but police now advice it has reopened to traffic.
1PM: A cotton truck which caught fire west of Toowoomba has closed one lane of the Warrego Hwy.
Emergency services are on scene and report six cotton bales on a rear trailer are on fire.
They have closed the westbound lane of the highway as they remove the prime mover and fight the blaze.
Police are en route to the incident, which is located 15km east of Dalby.
Motorists are being urged to delay travel in the area if possible.
