ICONIC Australian musician John Williamson has asked the Reclaim Australia movement to stop using his song 'True Blue' at rallies.
The country singer-songwriter posted to his Facebook page yesterday that he would prefer the song be used to celebrate togetherness.
'I am told that my song 'True Blue' is being used at rallies by various groups including the Reclaim Australia movement. They did not have my approval to use it," he wrote.
"I would prefer the song be used to celebrate togetherness in our great country. How about holding a rally for 'Love' and see who turns up. Hatred never solves anything."
Rallies have been held across the country, including regional cities, during the last month to protest the "radicals of Islam".
Williamson is not the first music artist to ask that his songs not be used for the rallies, joining the likes of Midnight Oil and Jimmy Barnes.
