Two write-offs in just two days

TWO drivers are lucky to be alive after being involved in separate crashes earlier this week.

The first incident, involving a 4WD (pictured below) and semi-trailer, occurred outside of Ducklo on Monday afternoon at 3.35pm.

The 4WD was turning off Halliford Rd on to the Moonie Highway when it hit the side of a semi-trailer heading west.

Both drivers walked away uninjured, though the semi-trailer’s tyres were slashed and needed replacing.

Fire crew were seen picking up debris from the 4WD along Moonie Hwy.

The 33-year-old driver of the 4WD was charged with driving under the influence, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle and failing to give way an an intersection.

She was given a notice to appear at Dalby Magistrates Court on May 24.

The second incident occurred just before the Nandi Rd turn off on the Moonie Highway west of Dalby.

The incident took place Tuesday morning at 9.30am after a night of light rain.

The 24-year-old driver lost control on the wet road, rolling her ute and landing on its roof.

Remarkably, the driver survived and was taken by ambulance to Dalby Hospital for observation.
