DALBY resident Allan Aickin will never forget his five years of military service.

The New Zealand born man served in Malaya and Borneo for three years between 1964 and 1969.

Prior to his deployment overseas, Mr Aickin trained at Waiouru for two years.

The Dalby Herald sat down with him for a chat about his military service and life in Australia.

To celebrate 100 years of Anzac, the Dalby Herald is looking for local stories like Mr Aickin's to recognise the significant event.

  • If you have any history to share, drop into the Herald office at 44 Cunningham St or phone 4672 5500.
