Waleed Aly goes viral for passionate anti-ISIS plea
THE Project's Waleed Aly went viral tonight for his impassioned plea for unity in the face of the Paris terror attacks.
He argued anyone preaching hate is helping ISIL in its goal to create a divide between Western societies and the greater Muslim community.
Aly also quoted Islamic State's own magazine to explain their mindset.
The news anchor was praised on Twitter for the "intelligent" and "articulate" editorial, which also pointed out a "weak" Islamic State needed to claim terror attacks to make itself look stronger in the media.
Goodness I'm glad we have @SusanCarland and Waleed Aly. Such articulate, rational voices for good in the midst of hateful chaos. #leadership

Waleed Aly just brought me to tears. His address should be replayed over and over on the news-not clips of the attacks! #TheProjectTV
