Warrego MP’s new Shadow Ministry portfolios
RESIDENTS of the Warrego electorate now have local representation in more areas of the Shadow Cabinet, with the local Member of Parliament taking up more portfolios.
Member for Warrego Ann Leahy has been appointed by State LNP Leader David Crisafulli as the Shadow Minister for Local Government, Disaster Recovery and Volunteers.
Ms Leahy thanked David Crisafulli and David Janetzki for giving her the honour of serving as a shadow minister.
“I look forward to working again with all Queensland Local Governments, and the challenges in the portfolio, whilst at the same time holding the Labor Government to account,” Ms Leahy said.
“Local Governments are the closest level of government to the community, that brings unique challenges and responsibilities for Mayors and Councillors in their day to day work as elected representatives for their respective communities.”
Ms Leahy said the addition of the Disaster Recovery and Volunteers portfolios were new areas of responsibility and she looked forward to working with the industry groups and ensuring that Queenslanders are receiving timely disaster recovery responses from the State Labor Government.
Ms Leahy was first elected to the seat of Warrego in 2015 and previously served as the Shadow Minister for Local Government.
