UPON walking into the new Dalby Chemist, all customers are given one guarantee immediately: they’ll be greeted with a smile and welcomed with open arms.
The new chemist in town is one that prides itself on top customer service and a promise that staff will put you first.
Dalby Chemist started thanks to the doctors at Myall Medical Centre, who saw a need for a pharmacy attached to the centre.
That’s when the Watsons arrived.
Having already owned the Jandowae pharmacy, Mike and Suzanne Watson knew exactly what the market in Dalby required and was approved to open up shop in mid-February.
Owner and retail manager Mrs Watson prides her store on its cleanliness, the amazing staff, and wide range of products.
Along with general pharmaceutical needs, the team at Dalby Chemist also specialise in braces for a wide variety of injuries and needs like knee replacements, sprained ankles, tennis elbow, and sore shoulders.
Mrs Watson also said the team were “becoming experts” in sleep apnoea and are looking to shortly begin selling sleep apnoea products.
Pharmacists Mike and Janice have 45 years experience in the industry each, and know what it takes to deliver top quality service and draw in a loyal client base.
That includes a process of “forward dispensing”, where Mr Watson discusses with the customers exactly what their needs are and what medication and products they need to directly assist them.
“He actually sits down with customers, talks about the medication, gives them advice, and listens to them,” Mrs Watson said.
“Sometimes people just want to have a chat. He’s all about that.”
The motto at Dalby Chemist is “good old fashioned customer service with fair pricing”, and that’s something they strive for every day, according to Mrs Watson.
The position with the Pharmacy Alliance Group means they are able to stock a wide variety of products.
But that’s not only what sets the pharmacy apart.
“Our biggest asset is our staff,” Mrs Watson said.
“They’re friendly, they’ll bend over backwards to help customers.
“We greet them by name. It’s all about good old fashioned customer service.”
For the Watsons, their work is about filling a need that needs to filled.
The customer always comes first, and their service comes with a promise that they’ll bend over backwards for any customer that walks through their doors.
“We believe that there’s enough need in the market for three pharmacies,” Mrs Watson said.
“It’s good for people to have options.
“What sets us apart is our customer service and our fair pricing.
“We’re not a discount pharmacy by any means but we believe in being fair with our prices.”
The Dalby Chemist are located next to Myall Medical Centre on North Street.
They are open 7.30am to 7pm Monday through Thursday, 7.30am to 5pm on Fridays, 8am to 4pm on Saturday, and 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
