Whooping cough at school puts parents on high alert
WHOOPING cough has been reported at a Toowoomba school with health authorities called in to monitor the situation.
St Saviours Primary School in Toowoomba alerted parents to the case of whooping cough in its weekly newsletter.
Queensland Health distributed a letter to parents urging them to be on the lookout for symptoms over the next three weeks.
"Whooping cough is a highly contagious respiratory infection," the school warned parents in the newsletter.
"Please seek medical advice immediately if your child starts to show symptoms and contact the school to advise accordingly."
