WINNER: The best burger revealed

WHILE we may be on lockdown our cravings for a delicious burger are not.

Earlier in the week we asked where you go to satisfy your cravings and now we can reveal where to find the best burger in the region.

Pips 'N' Cherries in Bell won this week's best of after receiving the most votes in what was a close race.

Owner Kate Toomer-Ford was elated when she received the news.

"We have been serving our steak sandwiches since day one of the business, so it's quite humbling actually" Ms Toomer-Ford said.

Pips 'N' Cherries doors first opened back in 2012 with Ms Toomer-Ford admitting the infamous steak sandwich was not meant to become a staple on the menu.

"It was just something that we thought we would pop on the menu and see how it would go.

"It really became an entity of its own and we just can't take it off the menu."

The picturesque cafe has been home to many travellers over the years, something that the ladies at Pips 'N' Cherries are missing.

"Pre-virus of course we normally have a lovely amount of people stop in a say hello on their travels," Ms Toomer-Ford said.

"We have a great spot on the highway so a lot of caravaners would pop in as well as families from Dalby who are taking visitors for a drive.

"While things have quietened down a little people are still making the effort to swing by for a coffee or some lunch which has been fantastic."

While many local cafes have had to change the way they run their business due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the ladies on Ensor Street have put their thinking caps on, trying to think of ways to stay ahead of the game.

"I think that the biggest thing that we have done through this uncertain time is listen to what our customers want from us.

"Like other businesses, we are offering take away meals that do feed the whole family.

"Just this week we also introduced a D.I.Y steak sandwich kit that parents can do with their kids through the school holidays which has been great."

When asked what sets their burger apart from the rest, Ms Toomer-Ford believes it is because of the love that is put into it.

"Everything we put on a plate, we have made it ourselves from scratch with a whole lot of love and butter," Ms Toomer-Ford laughed.

Pips 'N' Cherries is located at number 15 Ensor Street, Bell.
